Post it #2

Five of the most important elements of my  story are;

1)      Humour

2)      Setting

3)      Idealistic characters

4)      The mood

5)      Irony

The novel that I am reading currently is called Lucas this story is lacking the element of humor. Humor will make a story more fun and let you to laugh with the character when something funny is happening to the character. Humor makes a sad part of a book feel just a little bit better.  When you need a good laugh a book can do that and make you feel better about what might be happening. Sometimes when something awkward is happening and a character uses humor to take the awkwardness out of a situation it can become amusing.  In the story Lucas a fight breaks out between Lucas and a local guy from town the author uses humor to undo a stressful and tense time in the story. “Let’s have a little chat.”( Brooks, 226) Says Lucas when Catlin is going to hit her brother and is about to get very angry with him, I found this funny because when Catlin is all fired up Dominic Lucas stays very relaxed and calm.

Brooks, Kevin. "Thirteen." Lucas. New York: Chicken House/Scholastic, 2003. 226. Print

  1. I think your bog post has been written very detailed, interesting, and it is easy to read and understand what you are talking about for anyone who reads this blog post. I like how you give different examples about the element of humour and how it can be used. You should review your grammer choices in this blog post, I think by adding comma's to some of your sentences.
